History

High Quality Research was founded in 1982, as Inhausen Research Institute, to serve the research needs of national and international companies.  We have grown the range of services offered throughout the company's 25-year history, to reach our present capabilities.  The company was acquired by long-time manager Barbara Carbaugh in early 2007, keeping the entire operations team intact to continue to provide the stellar service our clients have come to expect from us.  We are conveniently located one hour from Denver, Colorado in the foothills of the beautiful Rocky Mountains.

Management Team

The management team at High Quality Research has over 60 years combined experience in bioscience contract research.

Barbara J. Carbaugh, Owner & CEO
Barbara has been with the company since 1987 and is experienced in all aspects of company management. In addition, her research involvement includes protocol development, conduct of studies, quality assurance, and final report writing.

Larry Travis, General Manager
Larry has over 25 years experience in the research industry, both in private industry and university research settings, and has been with High Quality Research since 1997. He has extensive experience as a Study Director and is largely responsible for our excellence in protocol development and implementation. Larry holds AALAS certifications at the technologist level.

Dr. Robert R. Peterson, DVM, MS, Attending Veterinarian
Dr. Peterson joined the staff of High Quality Research in 1996. Dr. Peterson received his BS (1983) and DVM (1992) degrees from Colorado State University in Fort Colllins, Colorado, and subsequently completed an MS in Comparative Medicine in 1996 at the University of Washington.

Gretchen Duran, Technician Supervisor
Gretchen has been our Animal Care Technician Supervisor since 1999. She is responsible for supervising and training our highly skilled animal care technicians.
